Which country do you propose? There are hundreds of 'em you know. India?Originally posted by PAH View PostI think first they're trying the softly softly approach, out breed by 10 to 1, and gain victory by sheer numbers. At that rate in under 50 years it might be whitey that's the minority, especially with all those who can afford to thinking of emigrating abroad.
So maybe the chavs pumping out brats from 13 onwards is our only hope if we want to keep England all bowler hats and elevenses. Not sure it'll sit to well with the track-suits though.
I propose a country swap. The immigrants can have this hole and we'll go where there's some sun. The ultimate offshore solution.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

Dunno, but I think we'd better plan it better this time than we did with Australia. Maybe we should call in that loan, all aussies have to come here, and we'll go there.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostWhich country do you propose? There are hundreds of 'em you know. Didn't they just make it easier for Brits to move to Oz anyway? And lets face it, half of Australia is here already anyway.Originally posted by PAH View PostDunno, but I think we'd better plan it better this time than we did with Australia. This story ad others is fine, it is not realy sharia law taking over. Anyone can do this. If someone assaults you and agrees to suitable compensation then you can tell the Police you are not going to prosecute. Sharia just formalises how the compensation shoul be agreed.
As I have said before: The real issue is that UK (and other Western) law settles 50% divorce settlements (I know, but lets go with this) for women. It is also possible to bequeth all your moneyto your daughter and other settlementscan be made exclusively to females.
Sharia is by no means as generous.
Muslim MEN want sharia so they can divorce easily and cheaply.I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Unless they have a pre-nup, which would apply under sharia. As I recall there is the concept of a pre-nup under Sharia....but I'm not sure how many women take it up...or whether men will be forced to pay it somehow (as it is not enforceable under english law).Originally posted by The Lone Gunman View PostThis story ad others is fine, it is not realy sharia law taking over. I do think that Muslim marriages - the nikkah - should become legal as it has become in other Western countries. Its just silly that it requires two ceremonies to be legally married.McCoy: "Medical men are trained in logic."

I don't think it's silly at all. In France you are officially married by the state registrar in the local town hall then if you want to be married in a religious ceremony afterwards (whether Christian, Hindu, Muslim, whatever) that's up to you.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostI do think that Muslim marriages - the nikkah - should become legal as it has become in other Western countries. Division of church and state you see. A very good thing too.Comment

Same in Germany and Italy (I think).Originally posted by Lucifer Box View PostI don't think it's silly at all. We got wed in Munich. You have to do the registrar then you can do a church job if you want to.
I think if the UK wants to be consistant then either all "church" weddings should be as recognised as Christian weddings, or should require all religions to have a registrar ceremony as well as their religious one.
Assuming those performing the religious ceremonies can be recognised as "legit".I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Apparently you say 3 times "go away" to your wife and she has to leave only taking what's on her, that's why, apparently, wifes in those countries try to wear all jewellry on them as otherwise they might lose it.Originally posted by lilelvis2000 View PostAs I recall there is the concept of a pre-nup under Sharia
Now more seriously - women are not exactly equal under Sharia law, and frankly when they can get stoned for "adultory" (if they get raped) then civilised concept of "pre-nup" is not that significant.
I want to live in a democracy, not sharia law - there are plenty of countries where one can follow all sort of backward religions and practices, I don't think UK is the place for those - I don't like Christianity either, but at least they are not blowing themselves and civilians up because of religions views.Comment

In this country no, but in the USA, the religious right had no qualms murdering a doctor who performed abortions.Originally posted by AtW View Postbut at least they are not blowing themselves and civilians up because of religions views.Comment
