I don't get it with how people manage to break their laptops that way. I have a bag on one side of my bike to carry a laptop and I've even had at least one lunatic kick at it when I've passed and it's not broken.
Insanity: repeating the same actions, but expecting different results.

Style over substance... I'd have to carry a thick book around to put it on so it was comfortable to use.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Got one last week - at the price I wouldn't really be devastated if the thing blew up. At Mac prices I would. And I'm on my third Linux install on the eeepc already just playing about with different distros - something I wouldn't consider with a Mac - so I'm learning more about OSes, which can't be a bad thing. The eeeuser forums and wiki are a good place to start, and they have their own IRC channel with many of the developers there to chat to.Originally posted by Moscow Mule View PostI am more inclined to buy an eeepc - I wouldn't care that much if the thing got bashed about in my bag etc.

Ripped off againAnd how much will this lovely laptop set you back? From £1199 in the UK and $1799 in the US, where it's due to ship in two weeks' time. The forecast ship time for the UK is two to three weeks. The 1.8GHz, 64GB SSD model will cost £2028/$3098.
Hmmm. That $3098 equates to £1571 at today's exchange rate. Even allowing for UK sales tax, that's a rum deal for Brits.Coffee's for closersComment

I agree with this comment from El Reg:
Shame really, I wanted to replace my 12" powerbook with one...It’s the Paris Hilton of laptops. Thin and pretty at first glance. After a second look though it is ultimately shallow, expensive, and useless.
Older and ...well, just older!!Comment
