The reason people dont want to learn is that they are scared of it. They dont understand it, they find it too hard to comprehend, they fear it, so they put their blinkers on.

This gets more prominant the older you get.

Fact.

As I said before, mental barriers that they have put in place. It doesn't mean that they are not capable of learning it.

If you really want to emmigrate to another country and you need to know the national language to do it, it's a barrier you would get over fairly quickly.

In effect you are saying: My parents want to live in a cheap sunny area but can't be arsed to at least learn the language to do so.

If I was Spanish I would be disgusted that we were letting people like that into my country, just as I am disgusted that we are letting people into our country who have no desire to do somethign as basic as learn our language. I am even more disgusted that we spend millions of pounds every year translating everything for them because "It's only fair"......

I don't expect them to get an A* in Spanish Language and Spanish Grammer, I only expect them to learn to converse with the locals (lets face it a lot of English people born and bred manage to fail English Language and English Literature, it doesn't meant they can't communicate with anybody....)
