    I have received:

    A selection of speciality ales (4 bottles thereof);
    A hip-flask (with related accoutrements, but nothing to put in it);
    A wind-up torch which can also be used to recharge certain makes and models of mobile telephone (though not mine);
    A memoir of childhood by Andrew Motion;
    A mug with cartoon penguins on it;
    £150 cash;
    A pair of Marks and Spencer slippers, with the receipt tucked inside so I can exchange them.

    Ho ho ho.

          Snap. First time I have ever been ill that I can remember. I knew it was bad when I driving down the M1 with the lorry heater on full, wearing a fleece and I was shivering yet also sweating.

          At least it served to prove to people that I am in fact not a robot.

            Absolutely - I've given away £640 in cash, so getting £150 back leaves me just £490 down (not counting the cost of gifts other than cash, packaging, travel, etc.)

              On a more festive note.

              I got:

              * Oil, Air, Pollen and Diesel filter for my car (from the folks)

              * Some Cash (from my Grandma who is terrified that her fortune is going to go to el Gordo so pays for everything in cash - she's like a gangster)

              * 40 Bricks in the wall at a local hospice

              * Some Alcohol

              * 45 CDs of Penguin audio books (this one is very cool)

              All in all a nice haul.
