SD - where in the "real" world would it be socially acceptable to pick on and bully newbies on the basis that it happens to everyone??

First day at new school in new area - everyone ridicules you, laughs at your clothes, calls you stupid and takes the p*ss out of the fact that you don't know where the toilet is ... that ok??

First day in new job???

You turn up at a party where everyone knows everyone else and has done for years????

To me it's not acceptable so WTF is it acceptable on here? why should anyone have to take the abuse and then prove that they can give as good as they get in order to be accepted? In what way is that something to be admired??

I have to say I've been on the end of mild p*ss taking and disagreement with my views, never abuse or bullying - but now it seems like bullying is being justified.

Go on admit it - you deliberately chose the name because of the double meaning... unless you are not as clever as I give you credit for??

I'm probably as clever as you gave me credit for.

The origin of the name comes from some technical support FAQ websites that I run, plus the wikipedia / Urban Dictionary definition of someone who answers lots of questions.

Like any forum members can hide behind the relative anonymity of the remote nature of making comments. I doubt very much these same people would dare to behave the same way in a pub or workplace. They only seem to have the balls for confrontation here. Abused children perhaps.

A lot of this behaviour is due to the bullies insecurities.

As for the oldies, this is just a classic case of the dinosaurs on this board fearing extinction.

Every few months they band together to try and fight it to no avail.

Anyway I wasn’t encouraging the bullying , just stating this is the way it always have been here, some newbies are taking it so personally and think they are the only ones who this have happened to them, some have PMed me asking why so and so doesn’t like me while he’s OK with you and with others, I tell them its for one reason only, you are the new kid on the block, nothing more nothing less, no brain surgery hidden agendas or any other motivation apart from oldies boredom

I would like to point out, at this juncture, that I take none of this seriously, and trust that none of the other posters (old or new) do either.

I can not be made to feel insulted, recieve criticism, or condemnation by an anonymous poster.

Face to face is real, this is all just an illusion and has no more bearing on reality than a fever induced dream.
