Sorry to hear that SD - get on the blower to your agent and get out in the market now - I'd be tempted to ditch with the minimum notice before the Xmas slump and find a job to tide me over till spring.

Doubt it, the new lady has no experience like me, she used to manage a team that implements the processes I design, processes I am reengineering and to be done by a newly created team, this lady used to manage such a team (Admin/processing team manager), but their workload disappeared because of some other process optimisation in her own department, as she was in charge of implementing similar processes they want her to come and take on managing my new processes testing (which I was scheduled to do – actually not so keen on doing this kind of thing, but hey, I said this is a very convenient contract etc, so I agreed to do it and stay on) this is a really good place, its so easy to work here.Originally posted by Bluebird View PostI guess that puts you inside IR35 as well !
Anyway, it may work OK; they may move me to another worksteam, so cross your fingers for me. But if they don’t , then I’ll keep it really professional and do my best to retrain that lady, I’d like to part on a very good note so that hopefully I can work here in the future.Comment

Similar thing here, I'm contracted until March but the work has almost dried up so I'm expecting a longer than anticipated Christmas break, almost not worth trying until February at the earliest.
The last time this happened I took whatever I could and ended up as glorified delivery boy despite the role stating it was technical, I stuck at it throughout the winter months though and ended up quite liking it as my route would normally be from Gloucestershire to Northwood and I always took the scenic route across the Cotswolds which are beautiful at that time of year with a crisp layer of snow.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave JohnsonComment

Actually I have been getting a lot of calls from agents recently, not fishing calls, when I tell them I am not available they just say goodbye. However, I think it’s the pre Dec rush, and I am not going to be able to apply for anything till I know for sure am going, but even then I don’t really want to take time off to attend an interviews
(the thought of having to go back to Canary Wharf just makes me feel so sick, and my stomach spasms like hell
