Ok worst case scenario they want to get rid of him in a couple of months, in two months they give him notice (I presume your notice is 1 month) then that’s an extra month pay, therefore the extension would work out to be 3 months instead of 6 months!! Win win situation if you ask me..

Not very professional, But can't you just train her in a really complicated way? Then just say to the PM "I'm sorry i'm trying my best but she just isn't getting the hang of it!"

Actually I am under no illusions whatsoever. I always treat extensions with a pinch of salt. This is no different.

I was not bothered either way. I was not expecting anything at all to be honest as the project is very near the end.

I have had loads of activity from agents recently so I'm confident I can get something, somewhere should this go t*ts up.

My point is I don't think you can draw any conclusions either way but for me at least (and many other contractors on site here) its business as usual.
