She did not have hair to show off great haircut for her job of a haircutter.

Perhaps in Islamic haircutting shop it does not matter, but evidently she did not fit the job in this case. Tough, but it's life.

Actually, thinking about it, depends on size of company. There should be some minimum point at which personal choice should not be overridden for any reason whatever. Racist, sexist, etc, so what? When it involves forcing people to work or live with somebody they object to, for whatever reason, and it is their own home, their own small business, they should have that choice.

Do you think she is a "moderate muslim"?

Also can you claim religious discrimination?

100% agreed, I have interviewed people who applied for positions in my team, there were some that I just didn't click with, and didn't think they'd fit the team properly - but I didn't get back to them and told them I rejected you because I don't like that you have a scarf on. Once someone rejects an applicant and were open that they rejected them because they have a scarf or a turban then they leave themselves open to being sued .. and so they should.

is a scarf comparable to a turban?

Not true. You go to the same hairdresser because they cut your hair properly the first time. If they f*** up your hair you won't go back however funky their hairstyle is.

Some Comedian has this joke that if you go into the barber and they only have 2 staff, you get the one with the carp hair style to cut your hair. This is cos the one with the funky hairstyle is unlikely to have cut their own hair.

Also you get men cutting womens hair and some like Nicky Clarke have carp hairstyles or like Trevor Sorbie are bald.

Women rarely go in for passing trade. (I'm one so I know.) They research hairdressers via family and friends.

I've also gone up to women I seen in the street and asked them where they got their hair done. Got two great hairdressers as a result unfortunately in one case I moved 200 miles away, and the other gave up hairdressing. (Now getting hair cut by one of her colleagues who is not as good.)

Anyway if she was serious about the job she would have cut hair of family and friends first and then got a word of mouth reputation.

                      Bye I'm off.
