Yes there is, it becomes habitual, your judgement over whats safe and what is dangerous varies day to day and to be honest I wouldn't trust what you consider to be safe as I wouldn't trust most other drivers, including myself.

isn't that a variable speed limit area? cameras should only be active when the 50mph limit is in force
What about the M25 with their variable speed limits? When it shows national speed limit (70) most drivers are doing 80-95. Do the speed cameras on the overhead wotnots not work properly?
