The Queen finally got her driving licence back on Friday, almost 60 years after she last saw it.
The World War II document, signed just 'Elizabeth' is one of the exhibits at the Adjutant General's Corps Museum in Peninsula Barracks, Winchester.

It was given to the then 18-year-old Princess in 1945 when she was a member of the Auxiliary Territorial Service.

It was kept by the Queen's driving instructor after the war, before making it into the hands of a private collector, who recently sold it to the museum.

A Buckiham Palace spokesperson said the monarch still regularly drives herself around on her estates at the age of 77.

The Queen, accompanied by the Duke of Edinburgh, unveiled a plaque to officially open the museum, which houses the history of regiments such as the Royal Military Police and the Army Pay Corps.

They then travelled to Winchester City Centre to unveil a jubilee sculpture outside the Great Hall.

They also met families and service personnel who served in Iraq and Afghanistan at the headquarters of the Adjutant General's Corps, at Worthy Down near Winchester.

The commemorative sculpture in Winchester, a jubilee monument, was designed by Rachel Fenner and commissioned by Hampshire County Council, close to the city's 13th Century Great Hall.

The Boy and Girl Choristers of Winchester Cathedral then sang for the Queen in the hall itself.

The Queen is also due to plant a tree at the 180-acre Sir Harold Hillier Gardens, near Romsey.

Prince Philip will visit the Royal Marines Museum and Royal Naval School of Music at Eastney, Portsmouth.

I though Phillip had a fleet of motorbikes, so that he could hound speeding, drunk, French chauffeurs around Paris?
