Yes, but the now ill contractors could ALSO come in ill, thus infecting even more people ..... with any luck the whole office of permies and contractors gets ill, the permies go on the sick, and the contractors are left in the office (they come in regardless of illness) and are free to play minesweeper all day.

    Winner.

I'll always come into work if I can - ill or not. It's nothing to do with being keen, but the opportunity to get paid to come in and mope around the office (rather than lie in a hotel room) whilst looking like a hard-working member of the team is too much.

most of the time you sound like you are
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

            1. You get paid
            2. You get a chance to give the piss taking git next to you, the one who has been saying "how's your 'man flu'?" a nasty illness.
            3. You appear to put the project deadline above your own health.

I prefer to drink (sorry, work) from home when I'm ill. I'm doing this at the moment and its much better than going into the office and having to put up with all the whining.

PS - thanks to all those 'indispensable' people who gamely struggled in and infected everyone else.

I prefer to go in, and then get sent home ill. Gives the boss a chance to see that I am actually ill and not skiving.. but then I guess it's different if you're a permie and get paid for being off ill...I'd rather turn up dribbling snot or whatever and spend a wasted £4 on the train than have my team thinking I'm taking the p1ss..
