Hardly an "annual thrashing", but don't let that fact deflect your rosy spectacles. I am actually a little flattered that you would still be using Scotland as your benchmark for success.
It is as close as 44-41 because England usually had bigger fish to fry. Unlike the period from 1970 when we took a well-earned rest from qualifying for tournaments. 5-0 at Hampden on a cold winter's night was a real pick-me-up at the time, I can tell you.Comment

For most of the last 100+ years England haven't even had a fishing rod!

Talksport this morning are saying that the "chosen one" is in line for the job.
The FA will never do that, they've just got rid of one good manager in Sven, to employ another who will fail will point to the fact that the deficientcy in the england set up is not in the manager but elsewhere...Cenedl heb iaith, cenedl heb galonComment

I'd be surprised if Mourinho takes it.
I'm not so sure, he loves publicity [ more than any other england manager in the past ] - perhaps its a perfect fit...
He wouldn't be put off by the press, I think the only thing that would stop him doing it is knowing the crap players he's have to work with...Cenedl heb iaith, cenedl heb galonComment
