I am now realising that by CUK standards I am entirely normal, whereas everyone in the real world seems to think I'm a miserable git. I also hate new year and office christmas parties and any of that forced jollity sh*t.

Never really understood the attraction of celebrating New Year. My wife always wants to celebrate it, but I never have and can't see the point of it.

This New Year should be OK as I'll be non-contactable, drinking some nice French champagne, in the middle of nowhere.

We have used "Country Cottages" in past. Found to be ok.
