I expect people working on checkouts might wonder what it could be like to be a parasitic ambulance chasing lawyerThe court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

Just think, in a few years, she'll be just like Cherie Blair.Originally posted by DieScum View PostShe's a lawyer but just starting out os she makes decent money.
I do get free run of the holiday home but once you've paid for flights to a specific place you could probably have got a cheaper deal somewhere else. Only worth it if you can take plenty of time there... and work takes a lot of my time.
I think I just have to be clear that I'll do what I do - which at the moment is a good wage for some hard graft - but it is not guaranteed to always be that way. I'm trying to make it clear how lucky I am and that I earn more than most people we know. Including her posh mates, it just I don't have any sort of inheritance or family money to guarantee me safe passage through life.

Yeah he looked really pissed off when I told him it was £60K just for today. Should keep my big gob shut when I'm pissed.Originally posted by dotnetter View PostReminds me of this fella I did a contract with, was on his way home and this banker type bloke got on the train pissed out of his face and their both sitting opposite each other and the bloke keep looking at him. Finally he says slurring:
"HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE!!!!!"
So this bloke says 30k
"I MADE 60K!!!!"
So he says yeah nice, that a good wage, well done. Then the bloke goes:
"NO NO NO TODAY MATE! I MADE 60K TODAY!!!!!"
I can just imagine the scene, classic!Hard Brexit now!

Depends what type of doctor, I know loads that 'earn' 250K. But then out of that they have to pay for a practice nurse, premises, IT equipment, loads of surly old women (sorry receptionists) and then loads of tax, so he quite easily be struggling on 250K but he isn't earning 250K his practice might be.Originally posted by Tex View PostAgreed - get out now. If he's struggling on £250k then he's not going to leave his darling daughter and you a pile of cash when he pops his cork.
Of course he could just be a surgeon in which case he must be sh1t cos they earn nearer seven figures.Comment

Run like the wind
It doesn't sound promising - in fact the dinner party sounds like a Bremner, Bird and Fortune sketch.
If you are happy with your 70k - and let's face it, it's a decent wedge - then don't get bullied into doing something you hate just to provide bragging rights at the awful dinner parties. Before you know it you'll be worried about whether you are going to be captain of your local golf club. Grim.
A final thought - be very, very careful about contraception.+50 Xeno Geek Points
