I despise poor working class people. Probably why I spit on them when I drive past in my Bently Continental.

I shout "get a job!" and they shout back "I've got one!" and I say "What, that pays £250K like mine!!!". Then I spit at them.

Does anyone else here do that too?

Reminds me of this fella I did a contract with, was on his way home and this banker type bloke got on the train pissed out of his face and their both sitting opposite each other and the bloke keep looking at him. Finally he says slurring:

"HOW MUCH DO YOU MAKE!!!!!"

So this bloke says 30k

"I MADE 60K!!!!"

So he says yeah nice, that a good wage, well done. Then the bloke goes:

"NO NO NO TODAY MATE! I MADE 60K TODAY!!!!!"

I can just imagine the scene, classic!

So I was talking to my bird the other night.

I was talking about my career the future, etc.

"Of course, you'll be earning much more in the future.", says my bird.

"Um, not that bothered if I do really. I'm on 70k all in now and to be honest if that goes up with inflation I'll be happy with that for ever. Yeah, obviously great to have more and sure houses are so expensive... but I can buy anything I want really."

"Yeah, that is good just now but there is no way you can raise a family on that. My Dad earns 250k and him and Mum are always talking about how they struggle"

Ha! Anyone heard anything like that or are your partners a bit more reasonable. Having visions of myself slaving away to fund private schools, etc when I am happy as I am...

Hate to go against the flow. Family is wadded which gives you access to the holiday home etc and a massive pay-off when the in-laws 'carc' it at which point you never have to work again.
Presume your missus can match your earning potential ? or does she do some part-time low paid 'worthy' stuff to make her feel better about not having to ?
If you really like her, forget her mates or just take the piss when they are around.
One thing though - I was on 70k once, market changed drastically resulting in 60% pay cut - gulp.
Make sure she doesn't see you as the cash machine, better to play down the earnings now than to find out when the gravy train hits the buffers and she bails.

She's a lawyer but just starting out os she makes decent money.

I do get free run of the holiday home but once you've paid for flights to a specific place you could probably have got a cheaper deal somewhere else. Only worth it if you can take plenty of time there... and work takes a lot of my time.

I think I just have to be clear that I'll do what I do - which at the moment is a good wage for some hard graft - but it is not guaranteed to always be that way. I'm trying to make it clear how lucky I am and that I earn more than most people we know. Including her posh mates, it just I don't have any sort of inheritance or family money to guarantee me safe passage through life.
