But buy new and you will lose a huge chunk of money in the first year, just as you always do on any medium to large sized Ford.

The last model ST220 was a good car but would lose about £10k in little over a year.
I got an ex-rental one from a car supermarket - about half list price, 6 months old - then it's worth the bucks. After 4 years, depreciation in price should be about £1500 per year, doing about 25k miles per year....

I did the same with a Focus for the missus with the same sort of plan, but less annual mileage. The savings can be spectacular. You benefit from the remainder of the manufacturer's warranty for piece of mind but don't pay a fortune for the privilege. It also had a few of the more rare items for a Focus like upgraded alloys and parking sensors. Hopefully, these will make it stand out from the crowd a bit more to the private buyer when it comes to resale.

I've been pondering that - probably looking for a new car in next year, and a mate who had a Mazda 6 said it was a damn fine car. Only thing puts me off in some of the lights at the back look a bit chavish... bit glitzy - if that makes sense...

              Have you actually had one?

What utter bollox I could afford any one of those but I don't feel the need to compensate for anything, if I was to choose one it would be a Lexus.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Lexus and BMW are around the same price, base model BMWs are cheaper because they don't do low spec Lexus
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”
