The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I used to work with a guy who started every sentence by saying "yeah, no, yeah, no, yeah, yeah, no, " - bit like the bloke off vicar of dibley. became amusing in the end

            "Let's take this offline."

Frequently used at my current gig; it means "As this isn't of the slightest relevance to this meeting/anybody else here/anything at all, we'll discuss it some other time."

Look, to be honest, there are a lot of annoying phrases but let's be honest we have all heard them. If you don't like this, either step up to the plate or let's take them all offline or ring fence them!!!
"If you can read this, thank a teacher....and since it's in English, thank a soldier"

I worked with someone who when asked a question always used to begin his reply with:

"I'll give you a starter for ten ......"

                Aarrrrgghhhhhh!

But "At the end of the day ...." also gets my vote.
"The power of accurate observation is commonly called cynicism by those who have not got it" - George Bernard Shaw

Look, it's like this, going foreward, at the end of the day, we need to take this offline.

Do you shop in ASDA? They're probably being genuine there - given the average credit rating of their customers!

You don't work in the same bank as me do you?
That annoys the hell out of me too.

"raising the bar", "to the next level", "stepping up to the plate", "going forward", "managing expectations"... all standard permiespeak at my current client - very annoying.
