Look, here's your starter for ten.
The problem with resources such as yourself is that you don't see the view from 30000 feet.
Basically, going forwards you need to raise the bar to the next level and step up to the plate, managing the expectations of stakeholders.
If at the end of the day, you don't agree, let's take this offline.
What it basically boils down to, its a case of, let's ring fence this issue.

I used to work with a woman who ended every 'phone call with "Thanks for your support" to this day I can't hear the phrase without assuming a complete lack of sincerity.

          Also:

          "Gain Traction"

"Socialise" - we need to "socialise" this issue with xyz. Just no.

"At the end of the day"

"Covering Off", as said of Projects, etc. FFS! it makes no sense.

Also: "By close of play." As in, "I'll get that to you by close of play tomorrow." Presumably this gets earlier and earlier as we head into Winter and bad light starts having an impact.

"What's the lowest rate you'll accept?"

                    Annoy me every time.

Generally spoken in a condescending tone by overweight, grey men in their 50's who know they're well past their sell-by date within the business and are desperately trying to clutch onto what authority and power they have remaining.
