WTF which is full contact Taekwondo, other than no punching to the head.

I also compteted in Muay Thai, which is most definately full combat, although never competed under full rules such as elbows to the head, that tulip is nasty

What impresses you the most? Someone sad nerd that thinks he is a bit "ard" because he is a black belt in boringtwatemi and goes on and on about it, or a bloke who is confident enough in his masculinity does ballet and does'nt mind having his sexuality questioned?

I did Jeet Kune Do (Bruce Lee’s style) for a few years which was a lot of fun and very mixed up. One week we’d be doing Thai boxing, the next week a bit of wing chun mixed with some western boxing, another week some Judo/Jiu Jitsu.

Very good all rounder style but not particularly specialised. It’s not taught at many places but I’d like to go back to it again. If I do go back I’m undecided on wing chun or Jiu Jitsu – that’s what I love about JKD is you can mix the both!

I’m only just getting back into the fitness again and martial arts are very much on the cards.

Most black belts don't go on about being black belts.... or at least not the ones I know! The fella who teaches us says, black belt isn't the en of the journey, it's the start....

Not sure I have ever met a guy who admitted to doing ballet!

Agreed. Kendoka don't even have belts, you're merely learning the basics until you reach First Dan, then you start learning Kendo - although there are gradings below First Dan to help track your progress.

It's also very disconcerting when you don't know who you're up against - I once got paired with a 19-year-old third dan, who made me look considerably worse than I already was!

I know - I ended up with an over enthusiastic white belt the other day, he was at least a foot taller than me and was going to win but still felt the need to beat me up!
