The first time I flew back from the US after Sept 11th I was in cattle class when this muslim guy say accross the near me. Once he had sat down he started using his blackberry and gesticulating to people in business class. As the plane made its way to the runway he continued on his blackberry and making hand gestures to a person in business. He did this while the plane made its steep climb. I had by this point decided that I would beat him to death with my laptop if he stood up - or probably the clients laptop actually!

get a grip guys. Just because someone is muslim, has a beard and carrys a black bag doesnt make him a terrorist.

I see loads on the trains i carry and its never made me nervous. Most, just like me and you, want to do a hard days work and then come home.

Thinking about it from a slightly different angle....
the vast majority of Muslims are just as outraged/shocked/scared as the rest of us.

So, just as we have to carry on with our lives and not let the terrorists win, why shouldn't your tube dude.

I firmly believe that people should be free to follow and express their own religious beliefs in whatever way that religion says is appropriate. I draw the line at imposing my beliefs on others and having others beliefs imposed on me.

On reflection, i beleive people on the train and myself included should have spoken up and said somethign to this chap.

So if he had stopped would that make him more or less likely to explode?

The issue here is your own paranoia and intolerance not one of any actual harm.
