You like Princess Anne?? She looks like a horse that been sucking piss off a nettle. And has the attitude to go with it.Originally posted by ArdescoVery pro royalist here, what does everybody else think. -
Parasites. To paraphrase George Bernard Shaw: it makes as much sense to have an heriditary head of state as it does an hereditary mathematician.Originally posted by ArdescoVery pro royalist here, what does everybody else think.

But good olf Prince Charles has a great farm that produces some bloody lovely food.
Not to mention our whole society is built around them. If you removed them it would throw our armed forces into chaos, the church of England would have no patron and we would loose our national anthem!!!!Comment

As a purely figurehead role with no real power and a great tourist attraction, I think the royals are fine.
Mind you, I'd quite like to see them have the power to throw politicians in the tower again (or worse)Comment

If they're such a great tourist attraction, why not make them apply for their funding from the English Tourist Board along with everyone else - then we'll get a proper business case. And if we're interested in making money out of them, how about pay per view royal mud-wrestling. The international sales from that would be massive.Originally posted by OrangutanAs a purely figurehead role with no real power and a great tourist attraction, I think the royals are fine.
