    RANT OVER...
Wasn't that the point expressed in the original post..?

How fortunate for governments that the people they administer don't think

I agree with the rant. I feel strongly there should be a 10 year re-test (and a 1 or 2 year re-test for new drivers). At least the 17-year olds we're all concerned about have had their driving assessed recently; what about all the 30 or 40-somethings on the road?

It must be tough being an ARDS instructor and having to tell people to always stick to speed limits.

      Nurburgring next week.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I'm surprised the M40 isn't on it. A few weeks ago there were 3 accidents with fatalities in a a four day period.

The main reason has to be as said before, you can actually get up to speed on some of the country roads in the north, we have the best drivers roads. Also add to that the born again motorcyclists who love the peak district roads.
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

I think the problem now is powerful neutral feeling front wheel drive cars, when they understeer it's too late to do anything before you understeer into a tree. With rear wheel drive you tend to feel it before you lose grip. These neutral handling front wheel drive cars make crap drivers overconfident.

So what if I'm being selfish. If there were more selfish people around then the roads would be safer. I lost three good friends in a car accident

It's not expensive to get better qualified - ADI only charge £80 to do a full training course for the Advanced Driving test and with the insurance discount you qualify for it could even end up not costing anything at all

ADI is for smug self satisfied pretentious ******* who then take great pleasure in parading the little tin badge on their car grille.

The driving test never states that by possession you are a good driver; erely a competent driver....the rest comes with experience

They also used to tell you how to make a skid worse, i.e. turn into a skid, which in many cases makes it worse.

Actualy, it is the selfish that make the roads dangerous. Those who do whatever they want to do instaed of what is safe or correct to do.
If everybody was a lot more courteous and considerate then the roads would be safer.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!
