I agree with the rant. I feel strongly there should be a 10 year re-test (and a 1 or 2 year re-test for new drivers). At least the 17-year olds we're all concerned about have had their driving assessed recently; what about all the 30 or 40-somethings on the road?
It must be tough being an ARDS instructor and having to tell people to always stick to speed limits.

I'm surprised the M40 isn't on it. A few weeks ago there were 3 accidents with fatalities in a a four day period.
The main reason has to be as said before, you can actually get up to speed on some of the country roads in the north, we have the best drivers roads. I think the problem now is powerful neutral feeling front wheel drive cars, when they understeer it's too late to do anything before you understeer into a tree. With rear wheel drive you tend to feel it before you lose grip.
