This is what our country wants, honesty about what a mess we are in and someone to do something about it.
I wonder where you found out about these things.

Oh yes, that's right, because of the hard work and persistence of investigative journalists, and columnists/editors willing to publish the information they receive, regardless of TB's wishes about how he wants the media to 'behave'.

Do you have anything of substance to add? Or do you prefer to snipe and name call like your gender demands?

Not quite, I did that through personal endeavour, a hack wouldn't have any idea how to find out about such things. The Government say they will do things and they simply do not, they have published reports detailing disasterous scenarios and they do nothing.

The "interests" of the people is a good excuse for anything.

What I would prefer is that politicians acted more in accord with the long term wishes of British citizens with regard to the society they wish to live in. If we make bad choices then so be it.

On some issues, such as ceding power to the EU and massive immigration, I would suggest that public wishes are crystal clear and have been for decades but these wishes have been ignored. On constitutional and some other major issues we should have a mechanism for demanding a referendum and not simply have one granted to us when our lords and masters think we will endorse their views or it will help them win an election. On other issues our MPs should have far more freedom to use their own good judgement on our behalf and not be threatened through the lobbies like tame pidgeons.

Democracy in this country is such a sad pitiful joke I am only suprised that public distrust is not far higher than it is.

I hope that bastard leaves office and promptly dies of something extremely painful.

I totally agree but would not have him harmed.

They were reliable sources, that's what they were.
