I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light. -
Group hug, or a scowl is acceptable from the Londoners (only joking). I like London, but it's too much of a compromise (I don't like living on top of others), of course if money were no object. The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.
But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”Comment

London has achieved its status mainly because it attracts the most qualified people and cheap labour from all over the world. If it wasn't for them you would be left with a bunch of sasguru-oxbridge types with egos coming out of their ass who would just ruin the nation. If London starts losing its appeal and stop attracting foreign workers your wealth will soon disappear (including your bubbled overpriced houses that you see as wealth). I think you'd better listen to the moaning as there is some truth in it.I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light.Comment

I was just looking at the house prices in Fulham. They don't seem to have moved much since late 2003, how can that be, I thought house prices had doubled or quadroupled since then? The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

London - Yuk
To me London is just not worth the bother.
It's nice to visit but not very nice to live or work in.
Travel to London is expensive and a pain, travel out of London is expensive and a pain (if you can get a seat).
It takes an age to travel anywhere while in London and if you have to use a tube then it's like doing a sardine in a tin impression.
The daily rates for me are between £25 to £200 per day more within London but most of the extra wonga would be used up in the extra expenses.
So, no thanks.Comment

Originally posted by FranckoLondon has got great things and I think it is a pity that in the last years it has been trashed so much by an invasion of gangs and chavs and a scarcity of services for what is the population now (most of it is not registered but I think in the last 5-10 years the increase in the population has been massive). I feel sorry that this does not seem to concern the majority of population as they are too busy counting their "monopoli" house money.Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyoneComment
