    Don't be daft.
So you had sex education at school which only taught you about "normal" missionary style sex? They didn't mention anything else did they not?

Well that must have been a short lesson - how did they get the course to last a year?

Sex education at my school(and I don't mean the behind the bike sheds stuff) comprised cut away pictures of the male and female genitalia. That was about it!

There's no way on earth we would've discussed the pleasurable aspects of sex, just the mechanics.

Discovering the pleasure is part of the growing up process - one day AtW, you'll know exactly what I'm talking about, maybe.

And this is different from something like Sleeping Beauty how? I don't remember the prince shagging the princess in that after he wakes her up, just as I suspect that in this new story there's unlikely to be any man on man action. The point being that the actual sex act is unlikely to be mentioned, the only thing being mentioned is the fact that it's normal for one man to fancy another man.

Not that I agree that even the idea of sexual attraction should be brought up with children this age. It makes more sense to have stories with the main characters having two fathers or two mothers but not mentioning it beyond that - in the same way that in children's stories now the backstory behind a character's mother and father is not normally explained. This introduces the idea of gay couples as normal at an early age but doesn't focus on that fact.

I'm not sure what that means to be honest - whatever it is it's not appropriate IMO. I do believe that having normal books that happen to have the occasional gay couple in them is perfectly appropriate as long as they are not singled out in either a positive or negative way. They should just "be there", as they are in normal life. Not promoting, not being negative.
I would agree with that, the sound of some of the titles is a bit worrying.

Better to concentrate on learning to read, write, spell, basic maths, and encourage any signs of natural talent...Sex is something that a 4 year old SHOULD be oblivious to, IMHO... let the sex education begin gradually as they mature, not start when they are too young to make any decisions as to what is right or wrong for them. I would also say the same about 'religious education' - I don't think that really has any part in the standard school system. Learning English and Maths to an extent you might end up with a job is a far more urgent requirement than whether 4 year old Jonny should look at his mum and dad as being different from the picture books he saw at school....
I was going to split your post up into points, but it is probably easier to answer it all at once though I do feel I have said all this before.

I have been a Scout and Venture Scout leader for over 20 years and been involved with youth work for 35.
I have seen a couple of suicides, a few near misses and any number of assaults (some very serious indeed) all because the kid was gay.
One of the suicides was a 10 year old who was confused and scared because he knew he was gay and he KNEW it was wrong.
If he had had some support or role models he may have made it.
The beatings are from bigots who find gays offensive.

Thes kids pick up signals from very early on. They dont care at 4 or 5 about gay issues, but all the stuff they are exposed to is hetro material so the background noise is all hetro.
This does affect their behaviour later.
I od not believe being gay is a choice, and you will never make a straight kid gay or a gay kid straight.
What the gay kids need is someone to tell them it is alright.

If you don't believe that then I hope none of your kids turn out gay. It will happen to at least one of you.
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

So how was Sleeping Beauty awoken?

            What happened after that?

She was kissed, but after that who knows. There's also a story where the prince kisses a frog to turn it into a princess. Do you have a problem with that as well, after all it obviously promotes bestiality?

They made a home movie, unfortunately they left it in plain site and one of the chambermaids got a hold of it. Made a mint in downloads.

BTW The whole 'unnatural' argument which follows the line of anal sex is wrong blah blah blah, seems to miss out on the point that human beings engage in sex for pleasure, not only for reproduction. Otherwise a whole host of sexual activities that we've all engaged in (Apart from AtW) fall into the same bracket.

yeah, and I have to also say (although we've gone off on a tangent about the anal sex thing) that 2 of my very close pals are gay blokes, and neither of them have anal sex. They dont like it!
They just tend to give hand/blow jobs. Thats their sex life.

It seems to be quite a common misconception that "gays are up each others arses" all the time.
