Because there's a difference between kW and kWh.

Edit: 24 x 490W panels = 11,784W. For UK calculations of approximate output, you'd multiply that by 3 this time of year, so in a day it would be about 35kWh generated. In summer you'd multiply by 5.

WTFH is spot on with the calculations

yesterday the inverter produced 45kwh

the house used 11.80kwh

batteries were topped up with 6.8kwh

we sent back to the grid 33.50kwh

and we took from the grid 0.3kwh
