    Budget Day

    Meh.

But I do find this rather funny. The OBR response appears to have been leaked in full!

As far as we're concerned (or some of us), tax thresholds frozen, dividend taxes up and some unspecified savings and property taxation for those of us with butlers.

i.e. not the doom and gloom that we have been told is definitely going to happen. Willie & co must be crying into their socks.

The only doom and gloom is how the UK is now essentially ungovernable. We're a bunch of children that won't support any government in actually taking the "difficult decisions" that they always bang on about but never take. I mean, freezing fuel duty and raising tax on electric vehicles simultaneously, taxing income by stealth rather than by increasing rates. Etc. I suppose we should be "grateful" that this lot are not dramatically less competent than the last lot

You should see it as a refurbishment opportunity.

So the pension changes are targeting SalSac only. Bad news for regular employees (inc. umbrella employees), but no changes to employer contributions more generally.

Is the "clear message" that owners of low-end Porsches for the mass affluent will be babied a little while longer?
