    Booze at airports

I was surprised at Gatwick on Sunday. They're not allowed to serve neat spirits. Only with mixers or ice.

I understand the rationale, but how long has this been a thing?

It's a bit odd though since I can get a bottle of spirits from duty free.

Last time I was there, I had no problem getting a measure of rum in the BA lounge.

    Which lounge were you in?

I mean, you were in a lounge, weren't you?

By the time I'd have got to the lounge - it'd've been time to leave for my gate.I tend to only use lounges if I get there really early, or I want to freshen up after a flight, or I've a gap between planes.

Although I remember using the Swiss lounge at Zürich - frankly it was so noisy I'd have preferred to have been with the plebs.
I won't use the bourgoise lounges on principle.
lounges? - we don't use lounges!
we don' need no steenking lounges.

Whatever the excuse, the Temperance Movement is deeply influential in government policy, this includes increasing tax, restricting sales and pushing for zero alcohol consumption.

              You've clearly missed WHO's recommendations.

Him what runs Ryanair was blathering on about how airports should restrict people to two drinks. However, someone noticed a changed in the on board service offering which may imply they simply said that to drive sales on board...
