You'd think the Police would have more important things to do with their time...

Essex Police said a member of the public reported being racially distressed on 24 February after attending the White Hart Inn, in Grays, Essex.

Five officers attended the pub, where they seized several of the racially offensive dolls on 4 April.
    Seriously.... over a doll...

There is more to the story than that.

Apparently he "accidentally" wore a Britain First t-shirt as well.

Police investigating an alleged hate crime over the display of golliwogs in an Essex pub are to examine online messages by the pub’s landlord in which he apparently joked about Mississippi lynchings alongside an image of the racist dolls.
Christopher Ryley, the licensee of the White Hart Inn in Grays, Essex, regularly posts on Facebook to express far-right views and share content from anti-immigrant commentators such as Katie Hopkins.

In March 2016, in a Facebook post still online, Ryley uploaded a picture of golliwogs hanging from his bar with the comment “We have our golliwogs, yaay.” Commenting on the post his wife, Benice Ryley, asked: “Are you sure this is legal. lol.”

The landlord replied: “They used to hang them in Mississippi years ago.”
Essex police confiscated the golliwogs last week after receiving a complaint about an alleged crime.

A pub where golliwog dolls were seized by police should not be considered for "future awards or inclusion in our Good Beer Guide", the Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) said.

Camra said it found it "baffling" that the White Hart Inn, in Grays, Essex, chose to display the "offensive" dolls.

Police are investigating after a member of the public reported being racially distressed on 24 February.

Chris Ryley, who co-runs the pub, said the dolls were "part of our history"

In a series of tweets, Camra said it was instructing its South West Essex local branch "not to consider the White Hart, Grays, Essex, for future awards, or inclusion in our Good Beer Guide, while these discriminatory dolls continue to be on display".

A spokesman for South West Essex Camra said the matter was being dealt with by Camra centrally.

Oh and you clearly don't know why the dolls are racially offensive in image and name.

      Brief explanation here - https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/...hey-to-display

There's no credible explanation in that article as to why the dolls are offensive. Just the usual Guardian wokeness.

          Thanks for trying though....

And the police acted on a complaint. Though it isn't clear who complained.

It would be ironic if it's someone who is "white"...
