    Wine, Cheese, Baby Formula

What have you seen put begins the till or with security tags on it?

    https://www.theguardian.com/business...to-deter-theft

Co-op stores in England have resorted to putting baby formula behind the tills in some stores to stop them from being stolen.
A Brighton shop took action as the cost of living crisis continues to hit people up and down the country.

The Co-operative said it had taken the measure in a number of stores to trial a new deterrent to stop theft, although it would not say in how many outlets this was happening.

Tesco in Slough have moved from a small belt with a sensor on the neck of the bottle (always had that) to putting spirit in its own fishnet body stocking made of steel rope. I can imagine in a year or two they will have people that are suing them for injuries from bits of wire sticking out.

Razors have moved to a card you take to the till and a manager runs to get it. Many electronics are the same.

Sadly is what happens if you set the Police response to >£200 everyone steals up to £199.

Strange thing about shoplifters they don't steal the value items, they like a bit of steak or salmon. You can sell those for good money and buy a fix.

Just when you thought Slough couldn't get any worse there is now "Poundland Flight" even the pound & less stores are closing!

Sam Pound store, one below, Iceland and Barnardos it seems. To be fair there is a nice Next outlet that occasionally has good shirts.

              Not poundland from tomorrow though.
