Any good Indian Restaurant Recommendations Near Shoreditch / Brick Lane?

Will be going with a group of 6 tomorrow to see the street art and need a place for lunch. I know there's a ton of Indian places with guys that tout for business and probably a ton of fake reviews. Does anyone know any specific places to try? Maybe something from the South?

Brick Lane is tough to choose - it is the indian restaurant version of nightclubbing in magaluf with all the touting on the streets

Highly recommend Dishoom in Shoreditch. Been several times to that one as well as a couple of their other branches (I think they have about five in London.)

It can be quite tough to get a reservation but mid-week should be ok. Last time I went there was a long queue outside but luckily as it was my wife's birthday we got let in.

Thanks to everyone that responded. Where we ended up at lunchtime made Tayyabs a bit far out of the way, especially when herding a crowd. We ended up at a place called "Taste of Jaipur" which was mediocre but good enough. We walked by Dishoom, which seemed a bit upmarket for the moment. I'd like to go back though.

Not sure I understand 'mediocre but good enough'?!?

Check out Dishoom at some point if you can. It's not cheap but it's got a good ambience that's different to most Indian restaurants. The menu and food is a cut above most Indians too.
