Brum the capital of untaxed cars

    https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/...89441#comments

Vigilante motorists attacking clamps put on their untaxed cars: Figures reveal 82,000 drivers tried to force wheel locks in the last five years
    • Some 635,445 cars in Britain clamped by DVLA for being untaxed in 2017-2021
    • Vigilante motorists forcefully removed or damaged 82,475 of these shackles
    • It means 13% of untaxed motors clamped result in criminal damage being caused
    • DVLA records show that Birmingham is the clamped capital of Britain
    • In the 5-year period, some 21,378 untaxed motors were clamped by contractors
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

There are 4 in my road untaxed (not in Brum) that are from one house.

Have reported many times for being untaxed on the Gov website - so annoying
    Reported to the council etc

    Any other suggestions?

Is the car on the public road or on private land such as a driveway or front garden?

If it is on the road, check the MOT status. https://www.gov.uk/check-mot-status

If it does not have an MOT and is on a road, then I believe the police can get involved.

Public road and yes it has an MOT.
Even on a driveway I think it has to be taxed.

            Stupid remark.

It affects all the residents in our road for many reasons.

I don't want to waste my time on the issue.
Just a bit selfish when one rented property in a quiet close has 12 vehicles

Can, but won’t unless said car blocks their favourite donut shop…

Untaxed - probably means also uninsured which is a far bigger issue…

Or have a SORN. But a SORN means it can't be driven off the drive.
