    Kids will play with anything

A mum has revealed her son has laid claim to a new favourite toy - a tampon applicator. The toddler is now carrying it around with him - wherever he goes.

Well at least he's going to grow up knowing what they are.

By the photo that's a Tampax Compaq. For some reason they changed the plastic to blue some time ago.

Never heard of those. Can't recall the missus using one. Recycled condoms would make nice balloons for little kids.

Yeah, they're for people who are too uptight to shove it up with a finger. Pointless "one use" plastic waste, so good to see this one getting an extended life

Of course mooncups (other brands are available) are the way to go - reusable, efficient, no waste!

I tried a mooncup-style thing but evidently bought the wrong size as it was very uncomfortable and ended up in the bin. I tried to contact the manufacturer because their size guidelines were terrible and they didn't respond so I won't be trying their product again.

A friend of mine thinks they're great except for the challenge of emptying and rinsing out in a public toilet.

That's for people who don't bleed ('Girls' and 'women' omitted from NHS guidance on periods | Daily Mail Online), makes them more comfortable.
