    I'm going on holiday to...

    Türkiye.
Yep Turkey is changing its name.

    https://metro.co.uk/2022/06/02/turke...bird-16759339/

Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he plans to change his country’s name to Türkiye.

He said it is the ‘best representation of the Turkish people’s culture, civilisation and values’.

The United Nations will now address the country by its new name after receiving a request from the country’s leadership earlier this week.

Other international organisations are also expected to be asked to make the change as part of Erdogan’s proposed rebrand which began in December.

      "Turkeyuh".

We were there 15 years ago, our guide was quite strict about using the real Turkish name, so this is not new news....

In order to stop confusion, I think we should rename the turkey (the poultry version) türkiye.

It's new because now it's an official change.

How the hell are we suppose to spell it on a ISO Basic Latin Qwerty keyboard?

The Republic of Côte d'Ivoire would like to have their official name recognized as well.
Even Wikipedia has the official name as "also known as".

And if Turkey are really that bothered they should probably get the UN to change the recognized name first. Member States | United Nations It's still Turkey there.

Either way this is just nationalistic fluff from a weak populist leader.
Next up.... Boris to rename England to Ingerlund as the football hooligans are the only supporters he has left.
