    Putin gone (We wish)

    <more a prayer than a place holder>

    That's probably the only hope for Ukraine and other countries in the region.

    My money is on him being bumped off, because I can't see him stepping down.

    Gary Kasporov was interviewed on Ch4 News last night, and his hope was that a protracted economic crisis in Russia would eventually turn people against Putin.

    Depressing that the fate of so many people lies in the hands of one crazed tyrant, but it's a recurring pattern throughout human history.

    Scoots still says that Apr 2020 didn't mark the start of a new stock bull market.

    I agreed.

    Otherwise it is Moldova then the Baltic states and war.

      Mods, can you please change title and NOT allow any such titles unless they are confirmed by a reputable source - that's just not ok under the circumstances

          Nothing wrong with the title. It did not say where Putin had gone, he probably went to the Ikea closing down sale.

            Ikea closing down? Nah, they're doing a roaring trade in self-distancing tables!

              Sadly the peasants are unlikely to revolt either because they're too scared or because they've drunk the cool-aid that is Russian propaganda.

              We need the A-Team to sort him out!

                To the person who does it - make sure you put the briefcase on the right side of the table leg, on the side of Putin, not the wrong side.

                  Suppose a revolution is not impossible rather than assassination. Most of the top people will surely all be very loyal Putineers, unless they conspire secretly realising they could retain power without him.

                    I hope I'm wrong, but I don't see Putin being assassinated or removed by someone high up in the Kremlin, a popular uprising will be extremely bloody and is unlikely as well. So I'm afraid he will be there until his death and what comes next is often even worse. Look at Syria and Venezuela for example.
