FFS when you are in a hole don't roll out JRM.

He has a habit of putting both his bloody feet in it.

Indeed. I have a strong impression that if you met him he would be charming, articulate, insightful and very very smart, but he's certainly not good PR for the common man.
There a is a sense in which I like the fact he refuses to change how he carries himself just to be more popular, and he's normally an arse to make a valid point - but hardly a vote-winner.

I never said it wasn't a major distraction, whipped up by the media and his rivals among others as you said. But that doesn't mean it isn't trivial all the same.

Also, unlike his other woes that you listed, it was entirely self-inflicted. With a moment's thought or just common sense he should realised immediately that it was a Really Bad Idea to blatantly flout the rules he had recently overseen and publically declared. That was my point. If he can feck up on such a simple obvious matter then what else, maybe more important, has he overlooked or let slide?

Alternatively, his team were in No 10's enclosed private garden and their workplace, overseen by the police and assorted senior civil servants, so he may well have thought it was all kosher. And I somehow doubt he reads his own emails so probably would have missed the "invite" even if it were sent directly to him.

He's not there to micromanage the business of government, but to direct the high level stuff. He's been accused of not reading things in the past, but somehow the right decisions on the stuff that matters seem to be being made.

It's all simultaneously frustrating and very childish to focus entirely on events from 18-24 months ago, when there are rather more critical things to be attended to. Dropping in on a "party" and making the right call regarding the relaxation of covid restrictions aren't really in the same ball park.

The thing is, if it was one occasion that he slipped up, then it could be excused with a proper apology. The fact that there are so many examples of him (and the people who work for him) breaking/ignoring the rules means that it is a big issue.
The only way these can be treated as minor is if you look at a single individual failure and ignore all the others, rinse and repeat.

Well we'll just have to agree to disagree. This was two years ago, remember, plenty of time for many people to have raised it as an issue. Its crawling out of the woodwork today says to me it has f*** all to do with the events themselves.

And yes, it does indicate a weakness in Bojo's attention to detail, but perhaps we should look at what he's got right rather than what he's got wrong.

He's an arrogant **** who couldn't give a tulip about you or anyone else, like the rest of this corrupt and venal government, they're in it for themselves and should be taken out side and have porcupines shoved up their nether regions until they apologise for being the total and utter tulips they are and for ruining the UK. Hope that helps...
Brexit is having a wee in the middle of the room at a house party because nobody is talking to you, and then complaining about the smell.

Two years ago, but he lied about them last month and last week, not 2 years ago. He was lying about how was paying for his wall paper 2 years ago. Let's stick with his current lies.

OK, let's look at what he's got right. Please tell us.
