But on the other hand we've been saying that for about a decade, and her mum was pretty ancient.

There's a guy in a redecorated flat who just keeps lying and lying, but will not resign and his party don't want him to either. Shows that if you say the wrong thing and resign, you'll be remembered. If you keep doing wrong but waffle your way through, you can get away with murder (and fraud, and Omicronyism, and adultery, etc)

The sad reality with Boris is that "lying cretin" was baked in from the start for many, perhaps most that voted for him, but the realistic alternative was Corbyn. This is partly why revelations about his character don't really stick, because they're not revelations to most.
