The latest is that Djok's forms say he had not travelled in the last two weeks before coming to Oz, but his social media shows he was in at least 2 countries during that time.

Whatever the right or wrong of him being allowed into Australia, he really doesn't seem to be covering himself in glory. Now that said, we'd be naive not to realise his situation is being played by several parties - antivaxxers, pro-vaxxers, among them - who are doing all they can to dig up anything which will help them. So at this point anything reported about Novak I'm taking with a pinch of salt until it's shown to be true, but personally I'm of the opinion he is somewhat arrogant and possibly assumes he can do what he wants, especially in regard to covid rules which he disagrees with. This might be utterly unsubstantiated, it's just based on following the sport over the years.

Novak Djokovic has blamed his agent for an “administrative mistake” when declaring he had not travelled in the two weeks before his flight to Australia and acknowledged an “error of judgment” by not isolating after he tested positive for Covid.

The world No 1 released a statement on Wednesday in a bid to address what he called “continuing misinformation” about his activities in December before he came to Australia in a bid to retain his Australian Open crown.

But Djokovic’s statement, posted to Instagram, did not address reports by Der Spiegel claiming apparent anomalies with his 16 December PCR test result. The reporting has raised questions about the positive Covid diagnosis that forms the basis of his exemption to travel to Australia.

So he attended an event knowing he had Covid "to avoid letting them down" and didn't mention he'd been to Spain "by mistake". Really doesn't know how to help himself, and he wonders why he's never really had the public adulation of Federer/Nadal, which he clearly craves.

Novak Djokovic’s Australian visa has again been cancelled just days before the start of the Australian Open.
On Friday, the Australian immigration minister, Alex Hawke, exercised a personal power to cancel Djokovic’s visa, likely to result in the world No 1’s deportation and putting him out of contention for the grand slam tournament barring an against-the-odds court victory.

The decision follows comments from the prime minister, Scott Morrison, on Thursday that he expects authorities to apply the policies of the government that non-citizen non-residents must be double vaccinated or have an acceptable medical exemption.
