If I were you I'd cancel it - by Saturday Omicron will be everywhere, especially in a theatre.

But do you want to get it at the time of near peak, soon to be peak load on Nhs? Plus Pfizer antivirals about to get approved and that should work very nicely - basically not long left to wait till relative normal

Yes, agreed - ideally not. Current events do have a slightly end-game, or blow off top feeling about them. I've probably got it anyway since my son has it and I have done nothing to distance myself from him since he came down with it.

My partner's boss went to a birthday party at someone's house over the weekend. They were in 40 people. As of today all 40 people have tested positive.

This is pretty much the same with chicken pox or measles - if you are in a room with someone who's infectious for a few minutes, you are almost guaranteed to get it IIRC.

There was another one in the papers recently, 16 out of 18 at a 60th birthday party got it from one attendee - all vaxxed, mostly boosted.
