Why am I not shocked?

They convert to Christianity because (a) it is taken as evidence of good faith that they want to become British and (b) because it means it is much more difficult to deport them because of religious persecution back home. Of course, (a) they don't have to pay any heed ot the label and (b) they are the ones perpetrating religious persecution in our home.

And of course there is a very lucrative industry funded by legal aid payments by us taxpayers to keep the process alive as long as possible.

Sadly no government will have the balls to say "you're going home tomorrow, call us when you get there and we will discuss it". Always assuming you can find out where "home" actually is...
