When Labour come back in they'll only have CGT, small amount of extra tax on divis plus property related taxes - thanks to Tory Scum who would have done half the job for them. Pensioners will again be left untouched because they vote well.

And what do you pay the tax with if all your assets are tied up in the house and you have a disposable income of around NMW if you're very lucky or exceptionally well paid? I know, you defer that payment until you need care and take it away then.

First thing that needs to go is PPRR. There is zero justification for one of the largest capital gains to be completely tax free. No tax is due until a gain is realised. We also need some anti-distortionary measures such as a heavy penalty for land banking, heavy taxation of second homes etc. Taxation of property in the UK is completely unbalanced and doesn’t need to penalise low-income households.

Yeah, so why Tory Scum are increasing taxes?

And who do you think will come after Tory Govt in a two party system?

"Workers face highest tax bills in a generation under Boris Johnson’s social care plans

TaxPayers’ Alliance calculate tax burden will jump to 70-year high, a level not seen since Clement Attlee’s administration"

              https://www.telegraph.co.uk/politics...hnsons-social/

70 fecking year high, PLUS living costs are crazy. But as malvolio says - it would have been worse under Labour.

Maybe this is what they meant with "You're own nothing and be happy" Because they can't tax it if you don't own it!

Yeah right - high taxes on: petrol, smokes, booze, VAT on most non-basic stuff, lots of other unavoidable costs are high because those who provide those services get taxed heavily too.

My feeling now with the hostile tax and inflationary environment that's coming is if your under 40 stick your money in crypto or start stacking gold if you don't like crypto and don't bother with a pension until things improve (say 10 years time) - got more chance of it being worth anything and being able to keep any of it by the time you retire...
