"McDonald’s runs out of milkshakes and bottled drinks
Burger chain is latest victim of supply chain chaos strikes and follows KFC being forced to take some items off its menu due to shortages
McDonald's has run out of milkshakes and bottled drinks at 1,250 outlets after becoming the latest victim of the supply chain chaos.
The fast food giant reportedly said it was "experiencing some supply chain issues, impacting the availability of a small number of products. Bottled drinks and milkshakes are temporarily unavailable in restaurants across England, Scotland and Wales."
McDonald's reportedly apologised to customers, saying it was working hard to get items back on the menus.
The shortage come after rival fast food chain KFC said earlier this month said it was forced to take some items off its menus due to ongoing disruptions in its supply chain.
It is also having to look at altering its packaging for products.
Meanwhile, Nando's had to shut about 50 restaurants and reduce opening times for others after deliveries of chicken were held up by a nationwide shortage of lorry drivers.
EU immigration rules and self-isolation restrictions have caused logistical delays for many companies. "
