It's easy to stop all the future referendum talk in Scotland. Vote in a Unionist supporting parliament. That's all there is to it. I know it's an alien concept to Unionists, but that's how democracy works. Bojo and his massive Westminster majority has the power to do whatever the f**k he likes with 43% of the vote. Why do you want to apply different rules because you don't approve of the party receiving the votes ?
As long as Scotland has pro independence majorities, a referendum will always be on the table.
I don't believe that a vote for the SNP automatically equates a vote for independence, although that is how it gets interpreted. For some voters it is but for others it's a least worst option.
All the while the referendum vote result is close, but not a win, there will be calls for more votes. I suspect the SNP would quieten down if a referendum scored less than, say, a third of the vote (just plucking a figure out of the air). If they got 51% then they'll be full steam ahead in getting the hell out of dodge and signing up to the Euro.Comment

What concern is that of yours ? You don't live in Scotland, you won't be voting there, you won't be taking part in a referendum there, so your input into it is as relevant as your opinion on election results in Outer Mongolia. Plus, you're a mad English Nationalist twat, but that's another story.
As my tax goes proportionally more to Scotland I am totally entitled to an opinion.
As many of the English firms & government departments sited in Scotland to placate the Scots will move south at independence you need to explain how you will replace those jobs etc.
If the Scottish Nationalists want freedom they need to convince people that they can stand on their own two feet.
Calling anyone who questions the figures a twat sort of makes my point. I pity any of the Scottish people who end up under such nutters!

Don’t take my word for it. How about the word of some well respected professor from a Scottish university to back up my rantings.
Piotr Jaworski, an economics professor at Edinburgh Napier University, has put on record that an independent Scotland would just not cut the mustard financially left to its own devices.
He said: "We will either go bankrupt or we will have to cut our spending.” What? Cut our spending, mate? This is the SNP we are talking about. And as a soon we become a communist country if we gain independence there are a lot of comrades to feed. No, no, no, we cannot do that. So, that leaves one other choice according the learned Napier University professor. We go down the toilet.

How would an independent Scotland have fared during the pandemic? We found out this week on the annual release of Gers, which adds up all Scottish spending and taxes and states the size of the gap. This year it's estimated at about 27 per cent of GDP, according to the Institute for Fiscal Studies, which would make it the worst-hit country in the developed world. It's unlikely that a small country could sustain a deficit of this size even in a pandemic: the UK has been hit bad, but we have the pound and the Bank of England's QE to lower the cost of issuing debt. For a country of five million to run a deficit of 27pc would be far, far harder.Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.Comment

Here as you are bankrupt why don't we offer you a loan? You just need to join the union!
You should be delighted at the prospect of Scotland leaving the union. Just think of the billions of billions of extra money England, NI and Wales will have to spend on infrastructure and sorting out the NHS. You'll be rolling in it. £350M a week from Brexit plus however many hundreds of billions a year from not subsidising Scotland any more. Your government will probably be able to scrap their IR35 changes, cause they won't need to raise that £2 Bn any more. You should be doing everything you can to make it happen !!!!Last edited by TestMangler; 14 April 2021, 16:32.When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment
