It was until material change caused by B....t - plus Cameron and Co lied to voters in Scotland in order to get needed result, that in itself should be enough to invalidate “once in a lifetime” non-legally binding opinion and it obviously meant - “GET OUT AND VOTE!” -

What other detrimental thing is going to come up that will mean another vote and then another one? No-one could see the future when the 2014 vote happened and no-one will know what the landscape will look like a couple of years after the next one.
They had a vote, got a result, and they need to live with it.
Saying "it was sunny when I voted but now it's raining, I demand to vote again" is bollocks.Comment

According to the UK government, the definition of a generation is seven years. If you don't believe me, check out the NI devolved agreement.Originally posted by AtW View Post
Is opinion now legally binding?
What if there are different contradictory opinions?
Sturgeon will leave sooner or later, but question of independence won’t - ever.
Frankly after B...t (leaving the Union on the basis of 52-48 referendum) it’s offensive to disallow Scotland run new referendum - best chance for UK is allow it and just agree legally binding minimum period before next can be proposed, and that’s where “once in a generation” could be put on signed paperWhen freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment

B....t is material enough for sure, continued poor Covid handling by Tory Scum could also give a reason to put a hard EU border.Originally posted by ladymuck View PostWhat other detrimental thing is going to come up that will mean another vote and then another one? No, they don't have to live with it just like they don't have to live with one General Election vote.Originally posted by ladymuck View PostThey had a vote, got a result, and they need to live with it.

Crikey, I'd have at least gone for 15 years to let the kids get into puberty before they start reproducing.Originally posted by TestMangler View Post

It's easy to stop all the future referendum talk in Scotland. Vote in a Unionist supporting parliament. That's all there is to it. I know it's an alien concept to Unionists, but that's how democracy works. Bojo and his massive Westminster majority has the power to do whatever the f**k he likes with 43% of the vote. Why do you want to apply different rules because you don't approve of the party receiving the votes ?Originally posted by ladymuck View Post

As long as Scotland has pro independence majorities, a referendum will always be on the table. When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment

Maybe if they can explain how they can fund themselves after independence most people will let them get on with it.Comment

Lower corp tax rate to 12.5% and be (Scottish) quids in whilst the City moves to Edinburgh, also rent out nuclear sub base to the highest bidder: sealed bids only, everybody is welcome!Originally posted by vetran View PostMaybe if they can explain how they can fund themselvesComment

What concern is that of yours ? You don't live in Scotland, you won't be voting there, you won't be taking part in a referendum there, so your input into it is as relevant as your opinion on election results in Outer Mongolia. Plus, you're a mad English Nationalist twat, but that's another story.Originally posted by vetran View PostMaybe if they can explain how they can fund themselves after independence most people will let them get on with it.Last edited by TestMangler; 14 April 2021, 15:35.When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....Comment
