I left mid/late 2000's so for the sake of the poor body-shopped consultants I do hope it's changed a lot. Seeing consultants burn out in their mids 20's was not great.I am what I drink, and I'm a bitter man

I worked for one of the consultancies just below the UK big 4 in the early 2000s. Some really bright people there and most of my colleagues were fine, it's just the partners (who took most of the profit) who were total knobs. I moved to a much smaller consultancy and my career really took off after that, it was a much better culture and I got to do more interesting work working more closely with senior client staff.
This guy's management style is going out the window in many organisations now and thank god too.Comment

I think you'll find they do...He later apologised, saying the comments did not reflect his beliefs."I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

And working remotely as a consultant is fecking hard work and tough mentally, and that's with a supportive spouse and no kids.
God knows what it's like if you don't have one but do have the other.

Sounds like he had a fair point - bunch of snowflakes the lot of them!
The lesson which other bosses learn from this when sacking moaning, recalcitrant employees is "Never complain, never explain".Work in the public sector? Read the IR35 FAQ hereComment

Apart from the boss of KPMG needing to get a better internet connection, and for some reason thinking that unconscious bias does not exist, I can't see what the fuss is about.Originally posted by AtW View Post
I joked earlier about those that complained being snowflakes - now I think i was right.Comment
