Who is going to correct my spelling now?

        RIP Fleetwood
The court heard Darren Upton had written a letter to Judge Sally Cahill QC saying he wasn’t “a typical inmate of prison”.

But the judge said: “That simply demonstrates your arrogance continues. You are typical. Inmates of prison are people who are dishonest. You are a thoroughly dishonestly man motivated by your own selfish greed.”

Fleetwood was that rare breed: a universally popular, affable and thoughtful poster. This one from him springs to mind.
          Rest in peace our Fleety.

            Terrible news.

A reminder of our transience and the slender thread by which everything we hold dear hangs.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

              Bye bye, Fleety...

                I'm stunned.

One of the great old-timers on this board, all of whom I hold dear, slips away to the great dictionary in the sky. Let's hope his pedantry upsets wherever he goes and they send him back.

                My sympathies to the family.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

                C.S. Lewis

Well that's brought a tear to my rheumy old lizardy eye...

In the midst of life & all that.

So long Fleety, we'll miss you.
