Sounds about right. 12 billion (if the figure upthread is accurate) spent on something that would only be effective in a very narrow scenario, seeing as the UK borders (flights) have never been controlled adequately to stop the system being overwhelmed purely on incoming numbers let alone any active transmission in country.

Fortunately they have a new scapegoat to blame their incompetence on: "It's all the new virus variant's fault."

YouTube has removed the official channel of talkRadio from its platform, PA Media reports. The Google-owned video sharing site has not yet commented on the incident or confirmed the reasons for taking the action. In a statement posted to Twitter, talkRadio said it was waiting for an explanation from the technology giant.
