    DOOM: Taxed for WFH

Doubt this would ever fly, and flawed on many levels, but an interesting thought.

All those of you that are working from home (and actually pay tax) should remember to get your tax code changed from 1250L to 1282L.

    Every little helps.

Suppose this story isn't just scaremongering....
Would an employer have to submit a list of employees working at home to the HMRC ?
And if, (like most I guess) your Ltd has registered office same as your home... technically working for your company from your companies office... how would that work ?

Its a tulip idea from a tulip investment bank looking at getting some publicity.

Ignore it as it would make contractors self identifying themselves as inside IR35 a sane policy.

“Economists at Deutsche Bank suggest a tax of 5% of a worker's salary if they choose to work from home.
The tax would be paid for by employers and the income generated would be paid to people who can't do their jobs from home.”

I was predicting this on here... why the feck employer should pay it FFS, how abotut banks who sustained and keep sustaining trump pay for enabling him? 5% tax on every derivative transaction, 20% if Pooter is involved!

About the only interesting part in this Mor Onic idea is how little money 5% will generate
