Some of them actually don't eat. They make a crappy meal for their kids and then say they aren't hungry as there isn't enough food to go round.

Fair enough. The correct approach should be food banks which should be massively funded by the govt.

Food banks are not the answer. The food is crap nutritionally as it has to be stuff that stores well.

Anyway benefits are suppose to be enough to live on.

Except if you live in an expensive area of the country they never were.

If you don't have family to help you out you were and are screwed. (There was a long thread on here during the banking collapse illustrating this.)

When the government brought in Universal Credit the idea was to force people back into work who were work shy.

However as most people under pension age who receive help from the state are working, all it did was make the state subsidiary to their employers less and the claimants suffer.

The thing people forget is that a lot of people can't budget correctly and can't cope with the change and extra cost that a week of providing additional lunches (and often breakfasts) costs.

And yes it may not be much money but if you don't have a car and can't access a cheap supermarket it's more expensive than you might think.

I don't think being unable to cope with the unexpected cost of extra meals is a budget failure. Some people don't have the luxury of having spare money to put aside for the unexpected.

It’s funny, there’s posters on this forum who are allegedly professional contractors who can’t budget or save for a rainy day, if people on here are supposed to be intelligent, how’s it supposed to work out any easier for those who aren’t as smart?

Simple, just tax Sky TV, all people who watch Sky are lazy sponging scroungers on benefits. Give that money to all schools, my two are at private but say the quality of food is atrocious, even the wraps! - I would like state help to sort that out.
